“ Was in town from Los Angeles for a few days and the hotel recommended this little spot. The staff were nice and friendly. I had the calamari during happy hour. It was good. No complaints. I also ordered a Cobb salad to go. Very good too. Prices were cool for a downtown spot. Would definitely return when I'm in San Francisco. ”

“ For some reason, I thought Sutter Pub had been around since, like, the Gold Rush or at least before the millennium. I just noticed, however, it's only been twelve years since they opened on the corner of Sutter and Taylor. I guess that's pretty long in SF restaurant years. Anyway, I was walking out of a medical appointment at 450 Sutter. I felt like celebrating since hey, I survived another day. Actually my idea of celebrating at 9:30AM was to go out for breakfast, so why not Sutter Pub since it opens at 8AM daily? The place was nearly empty when I arrived. When I was handed the menu, I zeroed in on the $21 Corned Beef Hash because I rarely have it at my advanced age, and if I do, it usually comes out of a can. But I'm happy to report they serve real corned beef with diced potatoes, scallions, herbs, and chopped onions. Two sunnyside-up eggs with runny yolks were on top accompanied by sourdough toast. I switched out the home fries for the healthier fruit cup (photo: https://yelp.to/2xPBtjtJdA). Nothing fancy except for the fruit sculpture. Delicious stuff, especially the shards of corned beef. Just don't tell my doctor. “ Sutter Pub was next door to the Wyndham timeshare hotel we were staying at with friends. They are Padres fans and we are SF Giants fans. We went there for dinner after the game. Our friends have gone before and liked it. We got a seat easy on a Sunday night. The service was quick with beverage and food. The pub is an old fashion SF pub & bar. Dark interior with booths and seats at the bar. Over all decent place to stop for a beverage or meal. ”
